View Full Version : Game Mechanics: Rooted mobs being treated like a mezed mob by pet

I'm currently using my level 16 animation 9though I suspect they would all react the same way).

Whenever I get jumped by 2 mobs my pet usually taunts one off of me and then I pull one back a bit and root it. When my pet finishes off the first mob it just runs back to me completely ignoring the rooted mob that was beating on me ten seconds ago.

So basically the pet is acting like the mob is mezzed instead of rooted. In order for my pet to attack the rooted mob I have to walk back up to it and get hit AGAIN.

In contrast my pet has been breaking mez constantly and shouldn't be. I feel the animation reactions to these two spell lines are completely reversed.

Pets broke mez originally. That was a function added later.

Alright, granted (although I still think a chanter pet should be different.)

But my main point is that my animation will not attack a rooted mob until I get hit again by it. (I can assure you that the rooted mob did indeed deal damage to me before I rooted it in all instances).

Basic scenario:

2 mobs hit me
pet tanks one
I root the other.
Pet finishes off mob
Pet returns to me as if mob #2 didn't even exist.

This is exactly how pets act towards mezzed mobs on live.

What should happen is that when pet finishes off one mob it should then go attack and taunt the rooted mob. Can anyone else confirm that this is happening to them so I don't start feeling like a crazy person?

Ok, after testing this.. I completely agree this isn't right.

For testing, I went to gukbottom, made myself level 40. I summoned a mage pet and stunned 1 of 2 frogs. Other frog attacks me, pet commences taunting. I keep the stunned frog rooted until the pet finishes off its target. When this happens, the pet wanders back to me instead of going after the remaining frog, which had beaten on me.

Will see what the source guys can do about this. Thanks.
