Alot of them(unsure if all) are currently showing the FX used in the druid wind spell series. Rather than the original red stars / cleric nuke FX.

Yeah, I never really wanted to say much about this because it's so incredibly minor, but I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought it odd. :)

I'm pretty sure the level 49 nuke is accurate ... It's been a while since I used it.

I wonder if something was changed because I never noticed the particle effects being off as I was leveling up.

If nothing else, I thought it was annoying that the particles stayed the same from level 1-50 instead of growing with the spell. (however, that's been mentioned before in another thread before).

Then again my memory is not 100% going back to when I played on live.

I noticed this as well. It was a recent change as I recall the DD spells were using the correct graphics several weeks ago. I have been off for a few weeks so I don't know when this actually changed (plus I usually don't use my DD spells on my enchanter).

Chaotic Feedback, Anarchy, and Discordant Mind use the correct graphic as I recall. Most of the intervening ones use the wind nuke thing, it's been this way for at least a couple months (this is how it was when I leveled up).

i agree the wind nuke graphic is wrong.

also, i remember augmentation having the same effects as stat buff spells (like the enchanter charisma buff and all the shaman ones). currently it looks the same as the haste spells, which is wrong. (should this be put into a new thread?)

Aug has the blue background flexing arm graphic still.

So I tried the enchanter nukes, and they all had red particle effects.

I'll need to know which ones are wrong, the spell's name, and how it should look instead. I'm not familiar enough with enchanter spells to know without researching.

Post these up and any others you guys might find and we'll fix em up.

GeorgeS, a tools developer for eqemu, made a nice compilation of the particle videos.

If anyone is interested in browsing the particle effects and possibly contributing the correct particle #, these videos show high quality casts of the different particle effects available to us with the client. (large download, slow)
http://www.georgestools.eqemulator.net/spell_encyclopedia.zip

After downloading and extracting, they can be found in this folder:

I've downloaded, set up the tool, and got it to work properly. However, the videos are all of the modern spell particles, rather than the classic spell particles which we use, making it impossible to use this to check for incorrect particles.

I don't know if we use a different library, but classic had fewer than 20 unique particles, and the spells in this spells_us.txt file point to 236 unique particle effects.

Edit:

I poked around on his site. If we wanted one of these for our server (If one doesn't already exist under a different spells.txt file) I could create a workaround, fraping the existing spell particles, and replacing each of the existing AVIs with what they would have been in classic, using the spell effects that we already have live!

They are in there, just not all in good order.

73.avi is healing
74.avi is see invisible
75.avi is poison
etc

I *think* those videos cover all the titanium-supported effects. note: the spells being recorded there are instantly cast, so any hand effects aren't included.

I don't even think I used the georges spells tool. I did use the spell_editor program from ailia (http://www.georgestools.eqemulator.net/Spell_Editor.zip), that works fine for reading the spells_us.txt file. The one we provide with the eqchanges.zip will always be where you can find the latest for p99.

Bump. Anyone seeing spells with the wrong graphics?
