As part of the emergency update completed last night, a change was
implemented that increases the amount of damage done by someone
wielding a 2 handed weapon.

This change was made due to a statistical imbalance in the way that
damage is calculated at the mid-to-upper levels. A person wielding a
one-handed weapon of a given ratio was able to do more damage than when
wielding a two-handed weapon of the same ratio.

We would like to stress that no change has been made to the amount of
damage done by people wielding one-handed weapons. The net result of
this change is that people choosing to wield two-handed weapons will
now do more damage than they did before.

currently using two one handers is FAR superior to using a two hander the DPS isn't even close

Eh eh eh wait now.

I wasn't getting hit for 190-250s with 2handers until deeper into Velious.

Right now, the damage I see matches that and 2handers are doing too much.

Kanras is going to punch me in the face :(.

There was actually a few changes (all positive) to 2handers, see if you can find that timeline here. My wishes were never granted. 2handers were TERRIBAD until... a bit into Velious iirc.

I'll do some parses using equivalent ratio weapons here and post later no time atm

Ite pal.

I was getting hit in the 110+'s here with a Mithril 2hander.

In reality, it should be more in the 70-80dmg range.

Did some parses using Wurmslayer 25/40 and Sunderfury 25/36, damage is all that matters for this anyway. The avg hit was basically identical in my tests, wurmslayer avg hit was 69, sunderfury was 67, I have 250 skill in both. My max normal hit was 137 with both as well so there was no difference with that either. This seems to confirm one handers and two handers work the same here contrary to patch note.

Ok good testing. 4 delay shouldn't mean much for a bonus...

I've been trying to find parses from that era to confirm.

I do know for sure 2handers get a HUGE bump in Velious.

Not sure what exactly that applies to era-wise...

My memory stands clear on Velious seeing massive 2h damage changes and there were bumps and fixes along the way until then.
