Giant Fire Beetle Leg drop

Queen Klaknak in Kith woods isnt dropping the leg properly and Giant fire beetles are only dropping REGULAR fire beetle legs and not giant! Plz fix this is compensate my losses, thx

Not sure on Queen Klaknak's drop rate on giant fire beetle leg, but I do know I camped her for about 16 hours over the course of 2 days and didn't one giant leg. That to me is pretty darn rare.

You also need to do some more research and present evidence of timeline appropriate drops.

It seems that giant beetles, giant fire beetles, and the Kith beetles had a change post Velious to include different drops.

I had to kill over 50 Queens to get 11 legs (note this was 3 weeks before the patch), at first I was thinking it was just my luck and 'variance' and all but with the other people posting about it I'm beginning to think otherwise. I don't know if the issue here is the Wiki saying "common" when it should be saying "Uncommon" or if the drop rate in the database needs to be tweaked.

I know this isn't a definitive answer, but I hope it helps.

It took me over a month to get the Giant Fire Beetle Leg and that was with my husband hunting it as well. I camped the Queen in Qeynos, the Queen in Kithicor, and killed every Giant Fire Beetle I came across. I believe it was listed as a rare drop when I was looking for it (that was about 3 or 4 months ago).

I know, I wasn't sure though, I didn't want to edit a source of information adding information I wasn't sure about. Like I said, I didn't know if the database's droprate was wrong or if the wiki was wrong. Now I know though :)

The site or any site says drops off all mobs westkarana 1 doesnt even drop anymore as well as giant fire beetlr in toxx havent seen any.. Klaknak in kith is clearly not dropping if u can camp for 2-3 days and not get

The Nov 19, 2000 capture of West Karana bestiary doesn't even list "a giant fire beetle". It has regular "a fire beetle" and "a giant beetle".

There is a July 27, 2000 comment (reflected on the current version of ZAM) concerning a change in the loot table for "a giant beetle" converting it from regular "fire beetle legs" and "fire beetle eye" to "giant fire beetle legs" and "giant fire beetle eye".

A while back these beetles gave only regular fire beetle eyes and legs, now they loot a giant kind which sell for 10 times as much, around 2gp for eyes, and a little less for legs. Now they give decent loot and I won't come out of the karanas broke.

The eye casts Enchant: Silver. Note: You do not need silver to cast this; it will summon the enchanted silver. Legs sell for a gold or two at the vendors, I believe. Great for all the young wanna be enchanters.

Nice quest.
The eyes aren't hard to come by and neither is the silk.
As for the egg sack and wasp wings:I suggest shouting around in Misty for them. They arn't too hard to come by.
The GIANT fire beetle legs however are a little tougher: they can be found on they queens, as discribed above, but they can also be found on GIANT beetles in West Karanas (who are a pretty low lvl commen spawn.
This has been double-cheked and verified by myself.

The loot for Giant fire beetles has changed, they now drop giant fire beetle eyes and giant legs. Eyes go for 2.1-2.6gp and legs go for 1.7-2.1gp. So now they're worth killing for exp and loot. You can pick up as many as 2 eyes and 2 legs from 1 beetle.

the loot of these beetles was changed...they have dropped GIANT fire beetle legs and eyes for a while. -giant fire beetles of west karana are now giant beetles
-giant beetles drop giant legs and eyes beginning with the release of the hole (june2000, affects both servers currently). prior to this, they will drop regular fire beetle loot

I can confirm the 2 western-most spawn points listed on the wiki page in WK do pop Giant Fire Beetles. I have killed a couple dozen spawn and got lots of legs, even 2 at a time, but no GIANT legs. FYI - the spawns were ALWAYS Giant Fire Beetles so no wasted spawn times on wrong mobs. Will keep trying for a bit but a couple hours on this 1 quest item seems waaaay more than the rewards worth. It is a L10 quest after all. (And the reason check for having them drop at all is that if they weren't supposed to, then there shouldn't be a quest asking for them.)

I suggest upping the drop rate on the Giant Legs or change the quest to take regular legs.

The last patch was February 18, 2013.

Camp the Queen in Qeynos until the next patch is my advice.
