ive been doing some homework on this. only half an hour looking at old pvp strats from lvl 60 chanters. NONE of them mention using any other mez other than rapture. not sure if its because its so good or because the other dont work but alot of them say if you dont get rapture off to back off. no evidence yet but i dont see other mezzes being mentioned.

Sam.. the point we're contending is that it shouldn't be the case that being a certain level prevents the spell from even having a chance of landing. There aren't many posts from people talking about PvP resists or even parses. Most of it is probably from non-item loot servers (like this one) where you could wear tranix crowns etc etc and were from Velious era (hi2u blue diamonds everywhere).

Stop trying to rustle my Jimmies! Do you think this person would have tashed and gone for a Dazzle if they knew it had no chance ever of landing?

Seems like a very easy fix too and no, I'm not talking the resist system, just this and only this.

what im saying is maybe at higher levels 50 mr or so can easily make those mezes resistable. all i know is noone has shown proof of anything.

lets get back to the main point i was trying to make

noone has provided ANY evidence that all mezzes outside rapture are not working on 55+ characters on this server. other than someone just saying its broke. post logs of 20 mezzes in a row on a naked 60 that has been tashed. prove there is a problem before asking for a fix. i know tune posted something but it was a log of her casting not of the person resisting. so simply i mean seriously i am at a loss for words that noone has done this quick 5 min test.

Clearly not confirmed...

I'd still like to see a bigger sample of mez attempts however I think this is good evidence so far that mezes on players are obeying their NPC lvl limits.

I can confirm 100% that mez obeys PC level limits. Whenever I get a charm break on blue I recharm with AOE mez (helps when you get summoned and have two mobs beating on you). I have never mezzed myself even once over hundreds of charm breaks.

If that is true, then there needs to be separate code for blue to implement the actual classic resist system. Right now AE mez is by far the best way to handle charm breaks against summoning mobs, and with the classic resist system only 51MR should make the enchanter immune (assuming I am reading the Lucy data correctly: http://lucy.allakhazam.com/spellraw.html?id=307&source=Live). In fact I just tried to root myself on blue with 155MR and something like 40% of them were landing due to Null's crazy system.

I swapped out my high level AE mez spell for one that hard caps at 68 (Bliss of the Nihil) specifically so that I couldn't accidentally mez myself.

Apparently, hard caps only apply to mobs and not to the caster.Level caps don't seem to apply to PCs in general, which is why mobs have no problems charming you with charm spells that have no business working on you.

And yes you could land an enthrall on players lvl 60 if there MR was low enough there has never been a lvl limit on mez in pvp. If we have to hunt to prove everything that every pvper on live knows as common knowledge it's gonna take forever to get this server back to classic.
