Velious Helmets Mega-thread

Here are the bugs reported regarding Velious helmets so far:
  • Hair sticks out of Velious helmets on various races (especially females) [1]
  • Velious helmets do not display correctly in character selection panel and revert to no helmet or leather appearance [2]
  • Male Erudite helmet clipping messed up, hood sticks out of helmet [3]

I would also like to add:
  • I was unable to find any evidence that there should be any tinting on Velious custom helmets during this era
  • Female Erudite visor is opaque instead of transparent

Regarding the issues with hair/clipping/tinting, I have created this image of how the Velious helmets appeared in Velious.

Does anyone remember if the Kael/Skyshrine custom helmets had any tinting during Velious era on Live?

I could be totally wrong about this, but none of the Allakhazam comments discuss any color or tinting for custom helms. None of the screenshots I found that were clearly from Velious era had custom helms tinted.. Or were from a later era when dyes for custom helmets was possible.

This leads me to believe all custom helms look like the Thurgadin (non-tinted) versions.

Kael:
Skyshrine:
Other Non-Thurg Custom Helms
Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Bump. Fix my pink Kael helm!

Bump, so many bugs with custom helmets. Just look at the poor Erudites for example.. Not only the clipping issues but the female Erudite visor should be transparent (see right). It is nearly 100% opaque on P99 (left).

This might be complicated. I have made threads in the past discussing partially transparent objects being rendered incorrectly. If someone can find the relevant .bmp, (erfhe maybe?), I will do some tests on it.
