Evia and Mug got it, OP. Make sure you're logging into the right server (blue or red) and the right account. The lack of the latest patch would show an empty character screen as well. If you're getting a "not correct graphics loadout" message, sometimes that'll happen to me if my latency is really high, and also shows an empty character screen.
