Default That thread about BDA

The one from Whistleblower.

What happened to it? He said something that he shouldn't? I was away the past two days but i was really looking forward to reading the rest of that. Only got to first couple pages before i put it down.

If no one saved it anywhere, what did i miss?

It was arguing that Ramius intended to defect. Powers that be want that story deep sixed.

The fact is, Ramius has been sending us subtle hint now for several years. But he keeps his own counsel, and did not bother that none of us interpreted his earlier messages.

However, right before announcing the decision to move to Phinny, Chest posted: "7520 2389125 251521 31114 61518 2085 1215225 156 1311825."

Needless to say some of us did not need to be told twice.

It had slander against the staff in it towards the end, the thread mostly became about making the staff look bad and trashing the project at the same time (while not playing here, and not supporting the P99 project in any way shape or form)

Needless to say that wasn't going to be tolerated.

It was using tongue-in-cheek delivery, treading the half-joking half-serious line, but the final few posts were staff bashing slander so Whistleblower's account was deleted and I am guessing he is not welcome back.

The Whistleblower account no longer is existed after the thread so you could say that the door has officially smashed Juvento off his fucking ass. He's finished.

Swish 1 - BDA 0 (That's right, Juvento is BDA whether you like it or not). Swish we know at least is still welcome here after his suspension)

They'll probably let him post again, but I doubt he'll be welcome here.

Slander. Libel. Scurrilous charges.

I bring before you charge number one. The devs have either not the interest or ability to properly GM end game classic eq.

P99 is all about the alt game - Its nice to get the top gear for nostalgia sakes, but there is border line metal illness in the end game raiding scene... You cannot regulate two hundred 30-40 year old men who refuse to share with each other. Anytime a guild loses a FTE they are going to complain that the system is broken, and anytime they win its working as intended.

I realized the craziness of this server about 2 years ago when we killed Trakanon within 3-5 minutes of him spawning. That’s COTH’s, pulling, and the kill within 3-5 minutes of spawn. Was one of the most impressive/absurd things I have seen in EQ. I think we had 4 people on engage and a cleric running around kiting trash as the rest of the raid was COTH’d in.

The obvious answer to all of this is bag limits – give each guild 5 dragon kills per week and a lot of issues go away

I don't buy it. It would be simple enough to set up a rotation, tell the players to administer it, and enforce it with GM bans. After a few months this should result in very little GM time required.

The GMs have stated they like competition, but personally I think rotations are more competitive than variance and tracking, not less. With variance you have 10-15 hypercompetitive racers and 100+ warmbodies who log in and faceroll their keyboards (that would be me). With a rotation, the goal becomes killing more content with less players in less time. So the entire guild's performance matters. The same can be said of an earthquake based system.

The only logical conclusion is that the staff prefer this. It makes no sense to me, but the server has been this way for the past 5+ years, so I don't expect it to change any time soon.

No, that never happened.
