Fun fact - Sansa Stark adopted her wolf from the show IRL and it now lives with her in Los Angeles

‘Game of Thrones’ fans howling over direwolf deaths (WARNING: SPOILERS) nydailynews “Game of Thrones” viewers are howling about last night’s shocking death.

“Stop killing wolves!” tweeted Aline Pereira.

“So damn unnecessary having Summer die in Game of Thrones,” mourned another Tweeter.

“The most annoying thing about last nights episode of Game of Thrones is that Summer got killed off,” tweeted user @FeelTheKarma. “Why you do this? Why?”

“And Game of Thrones does it again and kills another dire wolf,” mourned Twitter user Ramsin.

“PETA is about to be all over Game of Thrones if they keep killing the wolves,” agreed another user.

"Direwolves display the same loyalty to their human companions that so many animals do, so it's no wonder that viewers are saddened when one dies," PETA's senior vice president Lisa Lange told The Daily News in a statement. "Especially given the resemblance of these creatures to real wolves and the breathtaking computer-generated imagery - which also proves how unnecessary and indefensible it is nowadays to exploit live animals for a film or TV show."

“If Ghost dies in Game of Thrones I’mma riot,” warned Janet Guzman.
