Sprockets (tinkering)
Per http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=14957, sprockets are supposed to be 1p 4gp. On P1999 they are 7p 4g 1s 7cp

 it's like you make the atomic bomb (server) and you don't want to let other countries (guilds) have nuclear secrets (under the radar information). it's gm's business and no one else's or else everyone gets nuked. letting Iran or North Korea beta test and keep the successful nukes, makes other countries uncomfortable. | ||

If you read the comments posted at the page you've linked, it would seem our server's prices are correct.
edit: However, one very real issue with tinkering is that it's basically impossible to start, since metal twine cannot be bought in game yet. There is a thread discussing this on page two, but no devs have responded to it yet. | ||
