alpha was in 2008 actually I think.

But yeah it'll be time for a new server at some point.

2029 is gonna be a lark. I’m planning to complete my retirement and cut off all family and friend ties for the 2039 server. That will be the big one!

We all know Alphas are worthless broken pieces that need to be worked on.

Imo as long as newbie respawns don’t accommodate zones full of adventurers starting out we’re still in alpha. The dynamic spawns introduced in green helped somewhat, but there still is a long way to go.

Certainly 1) there should never be a newbie mob deficit and 2) it shouldn’t be possible to just sit on a single spawn point and monopolise it.

Good systems to prevent this is linked mobs which instantly respawn once the last of the group is slain and random respawns.

The benefit from the linked spawn system is it means during less busy periods the zone isn’t swamped in mobs but at busy periods there is enough respawns to feed the masses.
