Default Entry Point Not Found

Since downloading the new spellfile I get this error when trying to start the program:

decodepointererror.jpg

I'm running Win2k, has anyone else encountered this problem?

Is this to say it's entirely necessary I update? What's so different in this latest patch that the game is suddenly incompatible with my archaic operating system?

New changes we will be making such as the Brown Skeletons and Gypsie fixes involve altering the code of the game client. To do that it takes certain libraries that I guess do not exist on Windows 2000. You really should update anyways though, 2k is ancient =|

We will be making more changes that will be a requirement to play on our server in the future, so bypassing it wouldn't be an option.

Well then, I suppose I have little choice in the matter. I must say it's criminal how these companies strategically outmode their own products in order to optimize their profits...

Thank you anyway.

I used W2K until I needed to SLI. I still consider it to be my favorite OS.

Dual boot xp on a separate drive ftw!

Hm, I suppose I could try that, or perhaps try the Linux route and rid myself of Microsoft altogether. I'll sort something out.

I'd recomend against linux. I can't promise that the future versions of our files will be compatible with it either.
