I'm pretty sure the regen from troll illusion is a static value.

It's now something that increases with level like innate troll regen bonus does.

This is confusing. Static would imply that it never changes. But you are saying that it changes with the level of the caster.

I was under the impression that it is always 1hp/tick.

Autocorrect strikes again.

Now was supposed to be Not.

It's not something that increases with level. You are correct. It is a static 1 hp per tick.

I guess it's not that useful past early levels then.
Like those people who think that only Iksar can be a good necro... regen can help with mana conversion at low levels, but probably not so much later on.

Iksar regen is pretty noticeable at 50+ as a necro (comparing my 59 iksar nec and my 51 erudite nec).

I can go afk for the full duration of lich on the iks and not end up dead - if I do it on the erudite, I'll be looking for a rez.

at 60, iksars/trolls regen 12 hp per tick standing, while other races regen 4 per tick. (18 vs 7 sitting) in other words, +8 while standing, +11 while sitting.

and the regen on the troll illusion doesn't scale or have anything to do with passve troll regen. it's simply a 1 hp regen per tick affixed to the actual spell:

1 : Illusion: 9 (Troll)
4 : Increase Hitpoints by 1 per tick

Iksar/troll regen also scales up while the illusion does not.

When people say this I wonder if they have ever played a caster in rags? In groups you probably won't notice this, but soloing as a poorly geared caster isn't something I'd call dominating. Yes I killed a blue...time sit my happy ass down while I watch tv.
I absolutely have played gearless caster 1-50.
