Such great news! I was reminded again last night in Hate why I gave up on Reoccurring Amnesia for so long.

Taunt: Increased effectiveness above level 50. Previously, creatures above level 50 could not be taunted by means of the taunt skill. Now, most creatures below the character's level can now be successfully taunted. As a note, the chance to taunt a creature above 50th level is smaller than that of a creature below 50th.

Level 60 players with the taunt skill will now have a chance to taunt creatures that are level 60 to 65. Previously, players could only taunt creatures below their level.

These are the references I could find in old patch notes.
The first patch applies to only mobs over level 50? The second makes it sound like ONLY level 60s can taunt above their level.

So things remain exactly the same under level 50? I don't think this is the big "fix all" that everyone thinks it is.

Christ. If this is true, then I am sooo happy that I started leveling my warrior for Kunark..

IIRC, the wording on the second patch message is just poor. I believe that was the update that allowed taunt a chance to work on mobs above your level. To the best of my memory, success rates on blues were definitely over 50% and success rates on reds were in the neighborhood of 20%-30%

Didnt think it ever got fixed untill GoD or something like that. I remember loads of warriors stood around the nexus stone in POK in protest because they wanted sony to fix it.

Or was that for something else?

There were plenty of things throughout the game that involved protests [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] Even a boycott at one point.

I played a war on live for many years, and honestly warrior agro was always sketchy at best until they added in the endurance abilities such as incite and other similar discs then it actually became reliable.

I remember when they added the success / fail message for taunt it became overly obvious that taunt fail / success rate was actually far different then what it was supposed to be, maybe 1 in every 8-10 taunts actually worked, and further more, I remember fairly recently ( with in the last 3 or 4 years maybe? ) warriors were bitching about taunt still not working correctly and asking about a fix and an eq live dev came out and plainly stated that taunt has been severely broken since the very beginning of the game, and that it would be impossible to fix it at this point because it is buried under so much poorly written code that if they attempted to fix it, it could have far reaching game breaking consequences.

that being said, the somewhat unpredictable nature of warrior agro, is one of the things that makes playing them so much fun, and makes it take more skill than turn on auto attack and jam taunt.
