Explain how banning a guild from raiding a month (or more in some cases), banning half of their leadership for RMT would cause a guild to fail?

Do I seriously need to explain why it is hard to convince someone joining a less powerful guild when they can just hop to guild number 1? Because that is the core problem with challenging monopoly guilds on any non-instanced sandbox MMO.

If TMO was dominating the entire endgame of Kunark for ~5 months including getting all major server firsts and all the core players had full BiS gear and then the core players were starting to burn out and think about quitting then IB came back and started getting mobs and TMO announced they were going to retire.
