So you are telling me a tank with max DS is gonna win a dps race?

This might be the most dumb obvious point I've seen on the forums, of course max DS is a lot of dps.

If you give the same exact person a rogue, warrior, monk, and ranger - all in equivalent gear. The rogue will be the best every time. It's the most consistent. Vyemm/Vulak dagger main hand and swapping in Ragebringer specifically for backstabs every few seconds on a timer and you will absolutely shit on 95% of the general raiding population, aside from those others that A) are better geared B) don't die to something stupid.

Doesn't take much for rogue aside from 2 weapons and a mainhand epic swap, or 1 weapon and an epic offhand to do consistent, great damage. They aren't as gear dependant on whoopin' that ass as the other classes mentioned.

Detoxx has mostly best in slot on blue.

Play what you want. You are going to do damage with any of those classes. Raiding is but a small percent of the game. If you don't suck - you have the potential to be near the top with any of those. Warrior is going to be the most difficult. It takes a LOT of gear. If you want to be parsing at the top - consistently - play a rogue.

That being said - harder to solo with a rogue. Can't duo fungi king at 60 with a rogue. Can't do a lot of things with a rogue that you can do with other classes outside of raids.

But god damn, are they great at that ONE thing. Hittin' it from the back - and hard.
Ngl I was getting Dsm shaman > rogue vibes with this guy

It amazes me how people still misread that thread and what I said. It was indeed peak forumquest.

The funny part is the entire misunderstanding about Mage DPS stemmed from Troxx prodiving bad DPS data, showing a Mage doing 80 DPS in a group.

A Shaman can also output at least 80 DPS, as Troxx finally parsed at the end of the thread.

The entire thread spiraled out of control because Troxx didn't know how to use his parser. But it did go full circle, as Troxx finally parsed his Shaman's DPS. He showed his Shaman out DPSing his original incorrect Mage parse lol.

Not that’s it’s a rabbit hole worth exploring, but I’ve done 65 dps with a max level focused 60 water pet with two deadwood staves on Miragul. That same fight an 60 monk with a tranquil staff did 58dps. Nukes weren’t landing well but the DS was on the tank.

If you average the time to cast Paralyzing Earth then click the epic (2.5+9) snd the dot duration (90) it’s only 14 dps. Unless you have built a dot rot duo or trio stuff won’t last long enough for a dot to go full duration. It’s a good epic for solo kills and low dps duos but grouped up with a single melee and using a dog pet on geonids it’s a coin flip if the last big dot tick will land.

I wouldn’t let them bug you DSM. I got what you were saying [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]. Free dps and multiple mob dotting works in some situations. I think a dot rot duo or trio would be fun. Shaman, bard, druid.

Indeed[You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] I agree with you that melee DPS has a leg up due to resists being a factor for spells. And you are correct that short kills don't play nice with splurt spells like Epic. It is also quite cool your water pet out DPS'ed a Monk!

A DoT group would be interesting. Might as well try out different group tactics on a server that has been going for so long. That is one way to keep things interesting.
