I may be off on this, but I didn't think any class got any bonus damage from mainhand weapons until level 28. As a monk at level 28, I'm just now hitting for 19 max with my main fist (9/35 weapon) and 10 max with my practice 4/27 2hb shovel. I don't have super high str, though.
