Default Consistently Timing Out

Hi, I am consistently timing out on EQ 1999.

About 2-10 minutes from zoning into the world my latency bar slowly but consistently starts to drop from 100% to 0% and then I get booted to the log in screen. It's been happening all night and I've tested the connection on my end and it "seems" to be working just fine. When I restart EQ I usually buy myself an extra couple of minutes, but it happens no matter which character or which zone I am in.

Someone in IRC suggested I open a command line and do 'ping google.com', 'tracert eqemulator.net', and 'tracert www.project1999.org'

The results in that order were:

Those tests were being run right before and during the timeout.

Can anyone help. I just started playing this week and I really want to play.

*EDIT*
I should add, that I played on Sunday for 5 hours without an issue.

Thanks!

Just as a pre-emptive strike. Are there any optimum settings for wifi routers? open ports or anything?

I am in Kansas on Cox on a wifi connection.

Did another test.

I used my used my phone as my internet source instead of my wireless router and while my ping was in the 600-800 range (not fine in Gfay), I didn't timeout once in roughly 40 minutes.

That tells me its a problem on my end (or just dumb luck that it didnt time out), either my router settings or my ISP was having a crap-tastic night.

So I guess that brings me back to my earlier question, are there any router settings I should be using as far as port forwarding or anything else?

wifi is not always a stable connection ... if the wifi router is too far away, or too many things that block the signal are in the way, your connection can be very unreliable leading to loads of small disconnects ... you mostlikly wont notice it during browsing, but EQ will notice it [You must be logged in to view images. you should check the connection status, every wifi adapter has some "tool" to check the signal strength ...
