if you are having problems after installing new hardware you can go into the registry and navigate to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE->SYSTEM->CURRENTCONTROLSET ; (ENUM) registry tree.

it is here that all of the information for your systems devices are stored. if you remove them, namely, the one for your mainboard, it will re-create this entry on reboot without a doubt for your new mainboard.

not sure if this is going to solve your problem, but it won't hurt to try and it's not a bad thing to know as these keys can be used to troubleshoot drivers.
