unplayble lag spikes/server fits

I don't like whine about this great free classic server , but for the last 3 days I have notice crazy lag spikes and drops . Just woundering is this a problem with my computer contecting to the server/website or something else

will give computer specs if needed

The server has been experiencing some DDoS attacks from a lonely, butthurt person with nothing better to do over the weekend than try to spoil the fun of others. It'll pass. No telling when.
