Well.. um.. yes actually.. that's how these things work. The company is looking to draw attention to the game so they lure players in with large prize pools. They're not exactly doing it for the players enjoyment or because people love the game, they're doing it as a means and form of advertisement in order to draw new people in.

So in a way, all those tournaments are is advertisement for the game. It has little to do with whether or not it is overrated.

I have a couple dota 2 passes on steam i think, i was part of the closed beta .. which .. i think is still happening? idk. hit me up if u want one, but only if you're a fan / one of my friends / have steam codes to trade.

but dota 2 is a horrible game. HON is way better for denial and hide tactics.

dota 2 has horrible graphics, a shitty cast of characterless champions, clunky gameplay, and horrible slow menus. 1/5 stars, D-, would not ever play again.
