Will Project 1999 run smoothly on this laptop?

Be very careful with buying used laptops. A used laptop is a very risky purchase compared to a used desktop. By its very nature of mobility its hard to say what your buying.

Ask yourself when looking at a used laptop...

How many times was this thing dropped ?

How often did this person use it on their bed with blankets sufficating it and causing heat issues ?

Did it get left often in a hot car in the summer.

There is no way of knowing the answer to any of these questions and this is why a used laptop is always a risky deal.

Also just as an FYI the HP DV6000 series is plagued with defective motherboard issues. Sad part is that even though its a known defect HP did not issue a recall. Also the replacement motherboards that were issued for those under warranty had the exact same problem.

Avoid HP. Avoid Dell unless it is the precision series. The laptop I linked has a solid state HDD so you should be good. The laptop looks great and the guy looks legit
There are others like it with a warranty on eBay.

chromebrooks are no bueno for gaming. just go to bestbuy and buy a regular Windows laptop for said budget.

I would tell my arch enemy to stay away from best buy. This is EQ classic people, any laptop made after like 2005 that isn't labeled Apple or HTCP will be fine.

i've gotten P99 to play well on some really shitty computers

the trick is to turn the sky off in the options. can even still leave the far clip range cranked, usually.

I just got a XPS m1710 off ebay for 175 cause of a bad battery which cost me another 20 bucks and i have a perfectly working laptop. Just pay attention to ebay for a week or so and you will find something.

Also, having bought a second hand laptop this summer (due to lack of funds) I can't reinforce what was said enough. It plays EQ okay, but one of the USB ports is tempramental, and running any other game just causes a big drop in FPS... but it plays EQ okay...
