This is a trick question.
Everquest never becomes fun.
It's hard, and it wants you to screw up so that it can make you run for an hour between mobs that could kill you while you're geared.
Verant was full of griefers who hated their playerbase. Unfortunately for them, we liked the challenge. Don't get it twisted tho, this game is not fun. There is a game like that already, however.
Yes its a bit off topic but... thread is necro status anyway:

You guys misunderstand the definition of fun.

In the 3rd panel replace DF with EQ... put WoW in the first panel, and... I don't know... AC1 in the middle one.

EQ is a walk in a park. Just get immersed and be your class. Socialize. The point of the game is not really as achievement oriented as modern MMO's.

And much more on topic: Kuriak's Great Crusade <<< this thread sums up EQ from more virgin eyes, virgin to MMO.

Eventually they'll get good at the game and loose their immersion and be more interested in competition if that suites their personality... and then they can rage about raid FTE or reroll on Red.
