Incadescent Mask - Madame Serena won't give up the rune

I'm a dark elf, looking to do the incandescent mask quest.

I have boozed up Captain Roland enough that Madame Serena, when I am in Illusion: Human with Alliance, cons WARMLY. She cons amiably when I am in dark-elf form.

And yet, when I drag 5 plat onto her for the quest, she will not give me a rune, and takes my money. Wench!

...whaaat am I doing wrong here?

He needs a Glowing Mask, found on the skeletal monk or the froglock scryer in the caverns of Guk and all three Runes of Fortune.

One Rune can be found on the Dark Elf Enynti in the Chasm below Castle Mistmoore. The other two can each be purchased for 50 golden coins each - one from Mizr N`Mar in the Neriak City Library and the other from Madam Serena in Qeynos.

Purchasing the rune from Mizr N`Mar increases your faction with beta neutral,so this is an easy, but costly, way to raise this faction.
