Is there a major difference between XP and 7? Someone else mentioned 7 was bad... Is there a way to fix that?
Put winxp cd-rom into cd-rom drive, follow instructions.

But barring that, you want to run this with single core, win98 compatibility, imo

Thread about multi-core issues

Maybe you won't have any issues, but I do.

About the windows memory consumption... disable aero and enable windows basic theme. Just google it.

I actually have a cd like that somewhere I believe... Although I am not sure I still have the key that goes with it or if the key is even valid or not since I am not sure how many computers were uploaded with it. However, I was not sure if I have some kind of Windows product, such as 7, if I could switch from one to another. Also if I did switch, what happens then... a complete system wipe?

Aye, there's nothing wrong with win 7 in regards to running eq. And don't worry about the multi core thing either, it does happen but its unusual enough to wait and see if it affects you.

I can play eq on a macbook from 2007 with 1 gig of ram and a 2.0 ghz processor. You can most definitely play it on yours. It may not run above 30fps but whatever, it's eq!

There's only one way to find out, get titanium installed and try it out. What do you have to lose? 15 minutes setting it up?

Windows 7 is fine. 2 Gigs is fine, though it is an oddly low amount of Ram imo for a machine with Windows 7 on it.

Your system is fine.

You don't "fix" your operating system from Win7 to WinXP, so I wouldn't recommend that you tinker with too many settings until you have a firmer grasp on how computers operate.
