Half of that list is what I consider bad in EQ. It's a good thing I'm over that game~

Live EQ is a shadow of what it once was. Wow with its 3rd expansion is headed in that direction as well. Rather than finding a more clever way of increasing player power, they just add +5 levels and stack more stats on weapons and armor to the point of lunacy. Example: http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=89464
I wonder what you'd be able to do on P99 with a 194 dmg 35 delay 2H axe that adds +2490 HP.

I played for a long time (since jan 2000) Raided until the end of PoP, then every expac I would group play about 3-4 months and I would run out of content. Kill old bosses and see what raid content we could group kill. By the next month we were done/bored.
Underfoot set me over the edge... and havent been back. One of their patches stopped us from Raiding as a group all together. Must have 12 people in the raid or you cant even open the chest/reward.... We were a very small family guild of a few local guys. It WAS fun. Until they said Raid big or suck bum groupers. I could understand if it were new content but we were just enjoying testing our skills and gearing younger players. There arent any of those left on live either. You guys hit it right on the head they want their 85 players back. they are running our of servers to merge. I would like to know what 90 felt like but not for 60 bucks and 2 months of grinding. Acrisius I'm here to stay P99! -Mognar -13 Cleric

Hehe. The other fun part about this community: grousing about how SoE ruined the heart of their game to keep the hardcore occupied. Hell, I was hardcore for most of the 6 years I played.
When the first weapon dropped that had more damage than delay, I knew the game was changed forever. Anyone remember the mud-gimping article that had us all freaked at how accurate a description it was of what was happening to the game? It was so Nostrodomus-y that it had been written prior to the launch of EQ. I just tried a quick search to link it but didn't see anything quickly.

Its one of my biggest pet peeves in regards to any game that spans over years and includes multiple expansions. Increasing character level and item power over 1 or 2 expansions is fine, but once you get past 4 or 5 (or 17) numbers become so inflated that the game begins to suffer from it (in my opinion, of course).
Like I said before, WoW is suffering from the exact same thing that killed off Live Everquest for most of us. I remember back in "Classic" when http://www.wowhead.com/item=21134 was the end-all of weapons. Now in the first or second quest in the new expansion anyone with half a brain gets http://cata.wowhead.com/item=57294 from a quest that take 90 seconds to complete. I'm not bitching or anything, its just the nature of the beast I guess. I really wish developers would come up with ways to increase the power of your character and the difficulty of content that involves more than just adding to the level cap and making numbers bigger on items. I haven't played any of the other games like LoTR Online, Warhammer, AoC or even EQ2, but I'd imagine they all do the same thing.
