Exclamation Sick of the variance talk

I'm sick of the variance troll threads.

TLDR: Let's do variance so I can say I TOLD YOU SO!

We've seen what happens to the server when people combine forces, outnumber the opposition, and still get crushed..... That's what you're going to see with variance. It's really not going to help the server. Not to mention the neck beards who will then corpse camp for hours on end.

There is far better footing for the underdog when they know what time to be on to contest another guild and can advantageously position themselves before the mob pops. Get your Art of War on bros - shit is easy and all relevant information has been known for over 14 years.

Does Nihilum need to assign squad leaders to help opposing guild? I mean, this should be pretty damn obvious...

-My Take-
VARIANCE: let's try it, to make the vocal rejects (the 10% of the population) STFU.

TRUTH: the mob will go to the guild who can mobilize the most amount of forces in the shortest amount of time.

RED99 FACT: Nihilum is by far the most coordinated guild; Nihilum's mobilization time, while sad, is still far superior to other guilds.

The Sage's insight: at this point it's no secret each guild has spies. Your time delay from detection to the entire server knowing is probably under 15 minutes. If you can't mobilize in under 15, you're done son! DONE! MOVE ON!

How this plays out:
Guild 1's (G1) tracker detects a named NPC, we'll call it a dragon.

The G1's tracker sends a guild message to its members, stating the dragon spawned.

The guild (as a collective) has four choices: 1) Gather to make an attempt; 2) Bat Phone for more; 3) Log in alts (if you're Lite); 4) Combine forces to make an attempt ; or 5) do nothing.

In the next 10 minutes other guilds (guild 2 and 3) become aware the dragon has spawned. As pointed out, the guild or collective that can mobilize the most amount of forces in the shortest amount of time will win.

Dragon takes 30 seconds to kill.

Guild 1 takes 25 minutes (T-25m) from notification to a prepared for engagement state.

Other guilds learn about it in 10 minutes (T-10m)
Guild 2 takes 17 (T-17m + T-10m = T-27)
Guild 3 takes 10 (T-10m + T-10m = T-20)

Guild 1 and 2's force of 12 engages Guild 3's force of 30 at the T-5 mark to delay Guild 3's dragon engagement. Guild 3 crushes guild 1 and 2's force at the T-1 mark and engages the dragon 30 seconds later.

The TIME it took from G1 Tracker notification to dragon dead was 20 minutes and 30 seconds.

Event over.

Corpse camping begins at T+2 and continues until T+120 minutes
Repeat in 7 days +/- 18 hrs (thanks variance, join us next week)

Everyone else who logs in after that fact will now become slightly more numb to subsequent "mobilization requests", more spirits will be dashed, and more people will leave the server.

So yes, in the short-term you will get a few minutes of mass PvP here and there. In the long-term you will do far greater damage to the server population and by extension harm the opposing guilds' player base/ability to compete.

Who really wants to log in at 3AM to get their ass kicked then corpse camped for the next 30+ minutes?
TLDR: Let's do variance so I can say I TOLD YOU SO!

Do you think Nihilum will coordinate for every mob they currently take in 3 hours of raiding if they have to put in 10x the effort or do you think they will skip over some of the mobs providing a stepping stone for lesser guilds to progress?

So worst case scenario THINGS REMAIN THE SAME and Nihilum gets all raid mobs and red99 stays stagnant and boring?

I will concede and quit the box if that's the case. GM's can delete my accounts if Variance doesn't improve the box.

I don't just think, I KNOW.

Do you honestly think any guild on this server won't get absolutely shit on if they try to contest?

It would only be 10% because 90% of the 58+ are in Nihilum.

Quoted for future reference.

And

Worst case is more people leaving the server. The secondary and tertiary effects are not having enough of a player base for the opposing guilds to draw from and subsequently making Nihilum stronger.

In other words - which group is likely to leave the server first?
Group A: People getting their asses kicked and faces smashed on a regular trying to compete and coming up empty handed, only to later be consoled by their own hand stroking their cock, OR

Group B: The people dealing out spankings like we're dominating your mom in a full latex suit and getting the group sex money shots on a reg, like it ain't no thang.
ya dig?
