Eh? Someone on EQ complaining that WoW takes "countless hours" getting gear? AT realm you start with the gear, and compete with players wearing the same gear. It takes no hours. Live WoW is still shorter than EQ for a good player, but that is another topic since this thread is about a modified season 7/8 emu.

And as much as WoW may have sold its soul for more 14 year old players, at least it never had a play nice policy. WoW may have never been on the level of a Zek server, but this place and its GM handholding is about as rough as the Sims.

A dead in WoW cant be compared to an dead in EQ.

a.) There is no xp death in WoW
b.) The way from spawning point to corpse after an death is allways VERY short.
c.) You dont have to loot your corpse, you spawn with gear
d.) You need to run as ghost (unattackable) to your corpse and can take the corpse a good bit away, CC'ing is not that easy in WoW
e.) You can take an 5? minute debuff and take your corpse at the graveyard where you did spawn.

WoW != EQ regarding PvP.

WoW != EQ regarding PvP.

a.) There is no xp death on red99 from PvP.
b + c.) 99% of 55+ will plug as soon as the fight starts to go bad, so that is no CR. In group PvP your rez is just a click away, from any one of the thousand cleric alts. How many group PvP battles happen per week here? 2?
d.) Buuuuut you can just petition if you get CC'd and get the offender suspended or banned. That is even weaker than just being unattackable for a min.
e.) 10 min debuff plus repair cost plus you can just kill them at the GY again. All of this and no GM will tell you "oh no no, that isn't nice and is against the rules"

Thus, WoW is much more of a hard core game than red. You could kill a shitty player all day on WoW, or camp meeting stones(when they mattered) and no babysitter would show up and tell you how to play. On red you can kill them once, if you are lucky enough to catch them before a plug or gate(which 55+ is just about never). Oh, and don't forget that for 2 full years certain players could /q out in under 10 seconds. Do warriors still 100-0 you in 15 seconds when they go LD? Quality gameplay.

In hindsight, costing a team 15 rating or pushing them out of the queue for the night was entirely more satisfying than making 3 people plug and realizing that I just wasted 2 hours of my life.
