So I was thinking about how to implement it. We are all of different skill levels and such. I am thinking we can draw from each facet.

What about if we each make 1 exercise goal for ourselves, and 1 food-wise goal. (Or we can even make 2 goals of each etc- let's brainstorm). Also, if this goes well, I would love to keep doing it for each month. It will be nice to have these short-term (30 day goals) Plus for those of us who like to look ahead, keep this going.

For example:
Exercise:
I will work out on my bike 30 minutes every other day.
I will run for 30 mins each day day.
I will do my <insert DVD name> every day.

Food:

I will cut out fast food for 1 month.
I will cut out pop for the next 30 days.
I will eat at least 2 vegetables each day.
I will stay below 1600 calories each day.

Now a lot of this is honor code, so it would not be good to set a goal that is too easy for you or too hard for you.

Questions (Let me know what you think)

1. Incentives - What can we do to give ourselves incentives? A reason to keep going?

2. Accountability - What happens if we do not meet our goal? Also, how can we work that if someone does screw up once, maybe they are not out of the running, but are some how penalized (Hate for someone to fall off, and then say well forget it since im cut now).

3. Check-Ins: Not sure how the mods will be with us bumping a post, but if they do not care, maybe we can have a weekly check-in? I think daily may be hard for some people.

How about combining pixel-addiction with exercise?

If I had a treadmill, I'd set it up in front of my computer (or just get a Trek Desk) and only allow my character to walk/run if-and-when I am walking/running on the treadmill.

Yea yea fat fingering keys while bobbing up and down running could be problematic. You'd probably need a really big TV screen to plug into as well. It could be dangerous, but at the very least it would be hilarious to try (and film if anyone would so-dare)!

Hope this works out for all involved, doing things such as this is far greater than pouring hours into this game even though the game presents good stress relief.
G'luck to everyone on their weight loss endeavors.

I been trying to exercise over the past few years. Do this and do that. I am naturally slim, not a bulky or fat guy. For me it's more about staying in shape so I can work long and hard if needed and about keeping the muscles strong so when I am growing older I'm less likely to have a bad fall.

I say this after experiencing 3 weeks of bad neck pain. For the past few months I had been doing some exercises. I was doing a 5 to 7 minute plank too. I may have sprained a muscle in my neck. That kind of pain is not fun and I hope I don't get it again. Any exercise I do now will be more cautious.

My brother has more fat on him than me and I think his body shape is more ideal than mine. He's always packed on the pounds easier than me and always had that bulkier look to him. Personally, I think the extra weight on him makes him look friendlier - stronger even - and more likely to survive if we're starving.

There're so many weight loss ads and stuff and I can't help but notice most of them are for woman. What gets me is some fat on the female looks good. Am I the only male that thinks some is good? I'll confess too much is unattractive, but it's just as bad as too little. Some woman are skin and bones. Ya some woman don't look as good as others because of genetics or whatnot, but I think some fat is better than none.

My opinion is woman want to look like sticks because that's their crazy ideal of beauty. It has nothing to do with men. Woman don't say "I want to be a stick because my man wants it."

We have a bad problem with sugar and carbs on our society and many woman are indeed eating too much and do look like whales. The solution however is not to lose all of the fat and then look like a stick.
