Any form of uncontested mobs lead to competition for a variety of reasons.
1) it boosts morale which means people are more likely to keep playing and not join nilly 2) it helps recruitment 3) provides gear that makes you stronger All of these make it more likely that there will be a thriving competing guild No competition means, bad morale, less members, less recruitment, less gear.
