Update: I have also tried bootcamp with windows 7 without WinEQ2 and with WinEQ2 and I am getting the exact same issues. What would be my next plan of action to get this working? I am convinced its somehow I communicate with the server there is an issue (not the most tech savvy person). If someone who was having issues on this thread and is not anymore please tell me if it just started working or you had to do something else, I would appreciate it.

Think most of em just got tired of nothing happening so they stoped posting....

Everytime I zone or port (I'm a druid, so I do it alot) it's like 100% random if I will load the new zone or get stuck mid zone or disconnect from the server or finish loading after a looong time.
When I joined p1999 december 2012, I zoned in 10 sec or so, I was allways first to finish loading after a port or zone and had to wait for everyone else, now I zone in 30 - 90 sec, and get random disconnects or stuck mid zone.

Would realy like to see something done about it.

Crom,
Just wanted to confirm that I've experienced the exact same thing on my Druid...

I asked about it in the "Server Issues" area and got a very nice, very prompt reply:

=====

Hello GeinHealy,

I'm sorry to hear you are having technical difficulties. From first glance, it appears to be a connection issue. Have you restarted your computer / modem /router?

If yes, and your problem persists, I suggest posting in the technical discussion forum asking the community to help you trouble shoot. Provide as much information as possible.

I hope you are able to resolve your issues soon!
=====

The next day the problem just disappeared and I was back to normal. However, the problem comes back occasionally. I was able to play all weekend without problems. Then yesterday evening I was not able to play at all. Everytime I tried logging on it would hang at various places in the process including sometimes getting a blank server list... the best I got was getting to character select, but then the music just played over and over after I selected my character.

I'll give it another try this evening.

I posted in here having some of the same issues as others where I was crashing out on zoning and sometimes I'd get to character select and couldn't even get in to the game without crashing and retrying 5-6 times.

Long story short...MY issue seemed to just be congestion with the cable in my area during peak times. I went in to my router and turned on the QoS (quality of service) option and set the down/up rate that I have from my ISP and I haven't had an issue since. No more lag during peak times internet usage times (for my area), no more crashing on zone or crashing from character select. It's all working just like it used to.

I don't know if it will help anyone else, but it's something to try out if your router has that capability. Who knows, it could just be one huge coincidence for me, but I figured it was worth sharing.

My computer freezes half the time I gate, die, zone now. Lots of issues all of the sudden. Pretty frustrating.

I also just now started experiencing this... crashed while zoning and now i get:
blank server screen
timeout trying to connect
outdated spellfiles(even though they aren't)
unknown error

i've been playing since 2010 and this has never happened. just wanting to contribute to this thread. still no luck trying to connect after 45+ minutres.

Try recycling your modem, I don't know why but it completely fixed the problem for me

I'm getting this for the first time ever this morning as well. I left my character logged on overnight in EC tunnel, and when I woke up this morning EQ was Not Responding so I closed and reopened to discover I couldn't get past character select on multiple accounts. I finally managed to get in game once and crashed immediately after zoning for the first time.
