Well you would be wrong then.

I remember when i was 14, logging onto ebay and typing in everquest and people sold lvl 30's+ all day. 50's well equipped we usually in the 300+ range.

I never bought one because well, i was 14 and i dont have 300 dollars.

Kinda glad i didnt.

Selling chars is VERY classic. Is is the right thing for this server or would i like to see it? No.
People also used Macroquest and ShowEQ... All against the rules. This server is supposed to be as close to classic as possible so... selling or swapping accounts being permissable isn't "classic". It's allowed here but it IS a deviation from the way the classic servers were run.

It wasn't allowed in classic in part at least because they couldn't make money off people selling accounts. I dont really see the problem here. If someone's a douche on a character, they sell it, the buyer changes the name, maybe the buyer isn't a douche? Isn't that good? Sure, then the seller is free to make a new character to be an ass on, but that would quickly become known if he or she were that bad (or he or she wouldn't be an ass this time around, again, good). And its not like the seller couldn't do that anyway without selling the account. Oh no! Now he has platinum too!

Just not seeing the sky-is-falling problem here.

Agree or Disagree -

Toon sales deter power levelers from taking your mobs.

^ agree (opinion)

Disagree. They PL to 50, sell the toon, PL to 50 again, sell that toon... get the picture.

This issue has come up a number of times, with the OP always operating under the same assumption that getting a character renamed is just handed out willy nilly by GMs enthusiastic to help you transition your newly purchased 50 Mage. Has anyone ever bothered to find out if that's how it actually works? If anyone that's actually successfully filed a petition for a voluntary name change (NOT a case where your name was offensive/reported) and had it done can chime in.

Until then, I can say that personally, I've put in name change for my Shaman to something as innocuous as an "h" added to the end of his name like 3-4 months ago and nothing happened. I'm pretty sure that nobody is going to change your name at the drop of a hat like you guys make it sound. As far as I know, name change request petitions are almost never granted without a compelling reason (i.e. your name was reported and a GM comes in and changes your name). If anyone has any other experiences, please prove me wrong.
