Beetle stinger is also a great starter wep (8/23 iirc)
I grabbed one of these for my shaman. Can stick it in your range slot later on when
you upgrade your weapon (or want to use a different weapon).

Beetle stinger looks amazing. Regarding travelling to KC to pick up some rotting Jarseth armor - is it feasible to attempt this at a low level 1-5ish? It seems like a pretty high level zone

You won't be able to fight your way down, that's for sure. KC is super popular 50-55 so try to go there during prime time. Chances are you'll be able to run ALMOST freely since nothing will be up.

took your advice and ran my lvl 2 Shaman from FoB all the way to dreadlands, dodging high lvl monsters - no buffs no gear and I didn't die once! Nerve wrecking though. Dodging creeps in Dreadlands to head towards KC was especially tricky, but the entrance was guarded! Didn't get to scavenge at all, what a thrill though!

That's awesome. Should have streamed it with a camera on your face so the p99 community could enjoy your stress. Ultralols if you died!!!!!

I done it! I looted 3-4 pieces of Jarseth armor in KC with my level 2 Shaman! Looks absolutely awesome! I really should have made a video so that fellow iksars can see how to do it. In the end it took some really kind higher level people to help me get access safely, clearing KC ent and guiding me around to areas where the armor dropped. Big shout out to Shadowsmage, who went as far to get me rezzed after I died and got taken back to FoB! I got a free port to Emerald Jungles afterwards, currently making my way back to FoB. This is by far my favorite moment in EQ so far ha
