The formulas for calculating AC have changed many times over EQ's history.

I'm fairly certain that in Titanium you can follow the formulas for a rough AC calculation for each class with:
Warriors 95% ac value effectiveness
Other Plate classes: 80%
Chain: 50%
Leather: 25%
Cloth: 10%

So warriors with 100 ac, 95 of it counts, but clothies for every 100 AC you are only actually gaining 10, so not nearly as useful.

The only thing that is added as pre-cap or pre-mod AC is shields, which will give 100% true AC, and buffs which I believe also give true AC.

Monks have a different type of AC, so they don't follow the leather percentage, and I think Iksar also get true AC bonus as well.

Generally speaking, if you are a tank class or a monk, stack the hell out of that AC, it can't hurt

If you are a cloth or leather class, just stack HP and try not to get smacked, because your AC won't count for much no matter what you try.. though Shields are useful, due to the 100% they give
