Summon Companion - should turn off /guard?

Just checked this out on my mage, looks like pets now re /guard when summoned. You can summon your pet when it's in combat though, tested this with fire pet and monster summoning I. I'm not sure if this was how it originally worked or if it was changed later. I haven't been able to find any patch notes on the spell saying this was changed at some point though.
