![]() Pally solo ability is poor to nonexistent. They also have a big xp penalty but have one of the easiest times finding groups since tanks are in low supply in low levels. Pally is doable but unless someone gives you gear don't expect things to be easy.
Gear dependency is typically a bad choice for a first character but in the end play what you want. Rogue and Monk are the least gear dependent melee but have their own set of hurdles to jump. Enchanter is the most gear dependent int caster. None of the healers need gear unless you plan to solo with shaman. If you want to raid pally, druid and necro are all bad choices. Pally offers nothing but lay on hands, druid is a port bot which will be covered by alts and necro dots don't stack so they become a mana battery, in which case you mine as well get another cleric instead.

![]() Play whatever you want!
I started with a Paladin but had a little help on equipment. A good weapon is a huge help. Do the newbie tunnel quest (sell bones chips, skins, scalps and belts) until you can afford a http://wiki.project1999.com/Green_Jade_Broadsword
