The boosts are pretty minimal, TBH. You can get mounts and gear for your mounts (that increase their move speed, HP, and defense) that you'd be able to get otherwise in the game without needing the credits. And the boosts are pretty dumb, too. (Like, you don't lose exp for an hour when you die. Stuff like that). The majority of the store stuff is cosmetic.
Ah okay...makes it a bit better then.

Like, I am looking at the Marketplace in game right now, and most of it is costume related shit. Very little in-game perks, and the ones that are you can get by other means anyway - just generally more time consuming. (And they aren't pay-to-win style perks, either)

That's good to hear.

I just hope that the true subscription model isn't extinct. I understand that the free to play model provides some instant return [microtransactions] on development costs for investors, but they need to realize that original mmorpg players are not 15 years old now. They are, by and large, 30-50 and have enough income to pay for a decent game. Thinking about it, I would pay upwards of $40/month for an evolving game I could look forward to playing every day.

Wow costed > $60 million to create and profited $8 billion (most of it from subscriptions).

Gimme some qualityyyyy.

this game has subscription model, with very limited F2P. I hear that the F2P is so limited that you do infact need to pay in order to enjoy the game. If you are playing F2P you will be disappointed (from what I hear). But regardless i'll be F2P'ing the beta. Might buy access to live-alpha servers, depending on how this beta goes.

But it is also going to have the same concept as EVE Online, where you can pay for your subscription by in-game currency or item. (Just like EVE has in-game 30 day PLEX extensions)

It also doesn't make sense when people claim RMT is the future of business. To me, it actually seems like free download + monthly subscription is the future. Look at the huge amount of software now, such as Microsoft Office, and most cloud-based programs, that have become free to acquire but now require the user to pay monthly. This will be much more controversial with single-player games where people expect to own their game..just by looking at the botched launches of diablo 3 and the new simcity.

Just made an elf on the Saplhira server. Other servers had a wait time on it. So I suggest we all go Salphira.
