Instead of simply giving offensive clickies a casting time like golem wands they were all rendered useless instead because kneejerk reaction.

Probably the only dumb change Alecta made.

When a wizard has the two nuke wands from kedge and/or the hate one, youd realize it's not so dumb. Or a player who could instant life tap you for 1k health and damage with the trak tooth. Could also stock red wood wands and instant click 75dds x 5 per wand then recharge them for 7 plat, usable at level one.

List goes on, most people who weren't around then don't realize the effect.

There's only 1 wizard-usable wand in kedge, the other is magician-only.

And there'd be no problem with offensive clickies if they were simply given the casting time of their corresponding spells. Clickies with harmful spells that have no casting time (trak tooth's deadly lifetap is the only one that comes to mind) could remain disabled in PvP.
