wouldn't the simple solution here be to simply contact the person waiting when you are finished with the camp? tell/e-mail whatever? its pixels eventually the said camper will move on or have to log out. if its a MQ then don't be stingy douches. jees

shouldnt you just wait for the next spawn, if it doesnt get killed by said camper in a 5 minute window, then you take the camp??

Seems much more reasonable to me.

I will give an AFK camper a few minutes to come back before I jack the mob. If he is really "camping" the mob he should know right when it should spawn.

Yeah. I have my xbox in my bedroom, and I have enough homework to do in college. If i'm camping something, tracking for the guild (which is a lot less AFK camping than you'd think lol), etc, i usually keep excellent timers and can come back right before the pop, buff up, and keeeellll it.

Everyone else should be able to too.

AFK camping ... means letting your pet kill something, over and over, while you are afk. This is frowned upon.

AFKing between spawns on a 16 minute camp? Not afk camping..
As I read I was thinking this.. cus damn bro... I go afk ALL THE time when I camp shit.

1) I go afk

2) Even if im not afk I dont have to answer your tells

3) I might have your camp stealing ass on my IL.

If I was afk and someone killed a spawn that was up for FIVE MINUTES i wouldnt rage about it, but the guy better to be ready to GTFO of my camp.

Then again, when I go afk I keep track of the spawn timer with a stop watch... so wouldnt happen.

Im glad this was finally clarified.

I was always terrified of putting up an afk tag when i was camping long spawns for fear of being booted.

Now i can

/afk yes im camping it, im pooping or doing laundry while I wait for the pop.

without worrying about some D-bag jacking the camp.
Dont even bother to provide an excuse. /afk yes, im camping soandso. kthxbuybuy

I can't imagine the other person coming to the camp and not also going afk between 16 minute spawns so it's hilarious to me that he would pull that card in the first place~

Nilbog: Perhaps it should be changed to AFK xping instead of AFK camping to clear up any confusion*?

*And not allow anyone to nitpick rules to tailor to their personal needs

I thought the same too when I first read this thread... and nilbog did clarify

I don't see an issue with someone afk camping for the paw. If it's on their main character, and it's a legitimate upgrade then just let them have it. Unless of course the mob is up for awhile and they are afk for some reason.

What does annoy me is when the same lvl 50 necro's and chanter alts are squatting at every single named camp in Lguk. You come in with a full exp group; tank, puller, healer, dps, and you want to do a real camp like lord, frenzy, king. But, nope, the same lvl 50's are there passing the camps to their guildies.
