ranger gear questions

so far im currently a lvl 27 ranger

gear i use so far

ears, x2 platnium bloodstone earring
head: crested helm
face: bloodestone eyepatch, i feel i should trade it out for a grotesque mask? just from inspecting other rangers
chest: mithril breastplate
neck: spiked collar, nice str add, but whats a better one to get?
arms: azure arms, hoping to at tsometime get 2.5k for mith arms
belt: black iron girdle, figure get thick banded belt, or a fbss when im higher
back_ just a banded cloak, figure cloak of shadows maybe, or whats the ideal ranger one to get?
shoulder: crested shoulder
wrist, hero bracer and a rmb
hand: gem inlaid gaunlets, no idea whats a better one to get
legs: silver plated leggings, figure i just get planar when im 46
feet: dwarven work boots, whats better to have those or the watchmen boots?
rings: x2 platnium fire wedding rings, should i stick with the extra +100 health or get something else? i see higher lvl rangers with a djarns ameythiyst

i do have x2 ebony bladed swords, and currently one wakisashi, i have enough for another maid/butler but i find it rare to find people selling them, and i use a
runed oak bow

any help would be great

im guessing for lvl 30+ dungeons are paw, can do sol a up to 35ish, then do sol b 34+, lower guk, castle mistmoore, and cazic thule is what i can think of so far, lvling this toon is pretty damn slow so far, but fun as well!

forgot to add something else to this, with no buffs str 108, sta 100, agil 125, dex88, and wis 103, orginally i had my wis up to 115, then traded those items out for more str

so far i understand grouping wise, should have stats in str, sta and dex to be the highest? and solo more of wis for lots of spell casting

You might want to look up the Hooded Black Cloak

Dwarven work boots are the better of the two.

STR will increase your melee damage, and STA is always good to have. DEX is going to help your bow crits (which aren't going to be your primary form of DPS since we won't get AAs ever) and your proc frequency (which in most cases will just cause you to draw aggro and get killed in higher-level situations and in Kunark & beyond). Having said that, I keep my DEX high for the Ebony Bladed Swords when I'm not raiding for aggro control on blue con mobs. If you're worried about mana pool, swap out your gem inlaid gauntlets with Dark Mail Gauntlets for +50 mana and some extra AC -- you give up some STR though to do it.

I use the 7str/wis veil and the 7str/int mask or vice versa.

but not sure if they are best to use.

I myself used a full set of ivy etched from 30 till I got planar as it's quite cheap to get. It gives good AC which was really helpful since I often tanked when I was leveling (don't know if there are more tanks leveling now). Plus fashion > stats anyway, there's nothing like beeing in full ivy etched (except for beeing in full planar). Few advices:

ears: if you are rich BS electrum earrings, otherwise diamondine
head: hammerhead helm, that thing was made for rangers
face: 7 str/wis is good and quite cheap
neck: if you are rich runed lava pendant, otherweise the 7 str/int is cheap
belt: FBSS if you can afford it, the prices are dropping, thick banded belt is good too
back: hoaded black cloak
shoulders: crested spaulders or bloodstained mantle (MR is the most important resist)
wrists: 1 hero bracer is so cheap and very good for a ranger
rings: djarns is slithly better than 5/55 but much more expensive, your call there
weapons: ebony blade swords are nice for tanking and the root procs does 60 damage so it probably outdamage wakisashi, ssoy are indeed nice but quite expensive, and the best you could get is a spined dragon claw if you have 20-25k.
