People seem to underestimate how often root lands in pvp, Especially in the pre 56 levels. It is almost as if MR has very little to do with it at all. Same reason why bards can chain mez people at level 50 with like a 4/5 hit rate. Just why its almost equally as easy for a 54 druid to run up on a melee(who can't cast gate without pots) try for a root, try for a root again. If that fails, go with scoriae/wd/calefaction since person won't be stickin around to eat a blizzard in one spot.

Its basically what makes a 54 druid so OP, they have the starfire nuke with 2s less casting time. Winged Death, Regrowth, Blizzard and a level 39 quick cast nuke that still does good damage to finish off runners. Add in a fungi tunic/manastone and in old world its gg. All they have to do is watch out for the only real danger, level 55+ rogues =)
