If your intention is to wipe aggro then that's fine. If not and you're unsure about having done 50% damage, pull your pet off at roughly 20% and secure the last damage through dots yourself <3

Can definitely agree with pulling the pet off at 20%. As soon as the mob starts death walking, let your DoTs do the work, since you wont have to keep Fear going.

On a successful FD, you should be safe to stand back up and your DoT will not take XP. However, I found inconsistent results. Most of the times, my DoTs would not take XP. But if I stood up instantly after the FD, it would sometimes do so. So, I FD, wait 3-4 seconds, and then stand up, sit down and med.

So no, normally successive ticks after standing up from the FD do not count toward your XP. You FDing off the initial cast of the DoT forbids all the DoTs damage, making it void.
