Yea the buffs make no difference on the beta server that's why no one can see, it's not cause we are too dumb to use them.

They're working for me. Dark elf mask and bard song both work. Froglok crown works as a light source.

Make sure advanced lighting is ticked? It seems buggy. Certainly works for me, though.
