I know this is mostly a troll thread but I feel like throwing this out there any way.
If you don't have a job that makes what is considered god money by todays stanereds your wife staying home with the kids is economic. The price of day care is outragus and they don't do mush other then keep the kids alive while you're both working to pay the day care bill. I have three kids now and my wife is a house wife but in no way do I consider her unemployed. My 4 and 2 year old daughters are very smart kids and my 3 month old son seems to be very alert (a sighn of intelligence at that age). My house is always clean, my frig is always full and my 4 year old daughter can read and write as well as knowing basic addition and subtraction due to my wife working with her every day while my 2 year old daughter already knows shapes and colors. My wife was a nurse she was making good money and has a care take personality she loved her job but I can afford her to stay home so we talked and she gave it up for my children. There's a lot to be said for a woman who will do what she has done. | ||

a women out our office recently quit because it was costing her more to work and put her kids in daycare than it was worth working. Since she and her husband were employed, their income put them just over the limit where they couldnt get any discounts or w/e for daycare, so basically they had to pay full price aka out the ass for shitty service.
It sucked to lose her as she was a great worker and a great member of our small team in our small office but she and her family are doing much better. She gets to be with her kids which makes her happy and her kids happy. She gets to oversee their rearing (education/discipline/etc) instead of some random person who doesnt give a fuck about your kid and just wants them to shut up and watch TV or play with X toy or w.e. Look at kids now days...they are fucking shit heads...and i think that is due to not being raised by their parents. They are raised by random fuckheads who dont give a fuck and the kids turn out to be fuckheads who dont give a fuck. tl;dr -stay at home mom is fine. raise your own kids. they will love you and thank you for it later down the road.
