He is saying the reason the weapon got made to magical is so that it didnt drop on the ground when disarmed not so that pickpocket didnt work on it. But pickpocket shouldnt work on it to begin with. Dald was just correcting the fact that your post of why the weapon was made magical was wrong.
This.

Torch isn't flagged as a weapon in the data which is probably why you can pickpocket it. But for the intents of disarm, it is considered a primary/secondary item which you can disarm.

When grouping with charmed pets before this change people would disarm your pets torch so that it dropped to the ground and you could collect it.

The fix is probably that you shouldn't be able to pick pocket a primary/secondary equipped item.

I've found that it didn't duplicate the item, but merely didn't remove the graphic displayed once the item was disarmed/picked from the mob.
How do you prove that a torch isn't in a mob's secondary hand even though its visually there?

This isn't to do with disarming, no disarming was done here. Pickpocketed an item straight from a mob's secondary hand it seemed and it was still visible despite me holding it.

It's making me want to see if I can get a 2nd duplicate torch/lantern/other secondary non-weapon.

I'm just saying you shouldn't be able to pickpocket torches in the first place. Because they are worn items in the primary/secondary.

Because it isn't in the loot table after pick pocketing it.

But it was, another one was looted. I'm going to run this again next time I'm in Seb and get some better screenies - maybe even Fraps it up for y'all so its totally clear.

The same applies to armor.
We were in Mistmoore, the enchanter charmed a Dark elf. Eventually we kept getting bronze armor drops , so we started dressing the charmed pet.. Once he was in full set of armor, the charm broke, I was able to pickpocket piece by piece each set of armor that was given AND the graphic of the bronze armor still remained after the corresponding armor was pick pocketed
