Default Choppy Screen Tear Fix = Vsync

Decided i would post this here because after a long day of getting everything in game to work perfectly i ran into 1 final problem.
Screen Tearing oh noo's.

Add this line to your eqclient.ini file anywhere, right after
{DEFAULTS}
vsync=TRUE

also add these if they are not already included into your eqclient.ini.

CPUAffinity0=-1
GraphicsMemoryModeSwitch=1

*Note for lag
Try adding this line
HardwareTnL=TRUE

if not for the reason to make sure a vid card needs to have it turned on/off
If it needs to register as off make it false like so,
HardwareTnL=FALSE

Either way it should be there, this came from a older dev note when EQ launched blood-fields.

Run a search first though, they might already be in your eqclient.ini.

This will work, and are known quick fixes to most common problems EQ has running on well anything, because face it, Sony wasn't smart enough to include the little things like VSync, you could possibly professionally game w/o it who knows [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Going to try this out. I've suffered from the choppy turning for awhile now.

Well the settings have helped. The severity of the choppy turning with the mouse is noticeably decreased. I am still experiencing some movement lag when turning and think it might be to do with high density spell effects.

Going to see about tweaking such settings to see if this helps further.

Cheers for the tips though, it has helped.

If I cap the FPS at 60, or if I use Vsync, the game gets rid of the tearing but introduces a weird skipping affect when I move the camera. Strange [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Glad i could help guys, Unfortunately alot of the Compatibility issues with video wasnt perfected in the titanium client and P99 removed some things as well.

It should clear up after a few login's, mine did newer vid-card support wasnt introduced until much later down the series.
