I have just started reading the books and I have already noticed some very noticeable plot changes in the TV series. Not a bad thing, though.. TV series is sooo good.

The first season is actually very close to the first book. They start changing more dramatically as time goes on. But I agree with you; although I think the books are definitely better, I'm still a fan of both. I think GoT is the most entertaining thing on TV right now. Specifically, Dinklage plays a good Tyrion (despite his accent being a very shitty rendition of what is supposed to be British). Also, the people playing Baelish, Davos, and especially the Hound do an amazing job. The dude playing the hound is a superb actor, and I appreciate the show for things like that which you obviously don't encounter when reading.

On the other hand, the dude playing Jon Snow is a pussy, so there's that
