when a repop occurs, all guilds log in, so that alone is a few hundred people. Now its Saturday night, so its already looking at 1200 people + 300 guild members killing all the repopped mobs = 1500+ online

Its saturday night and the east coast is buried in snow. Also repops so everyone is playing.
