Default Corpse Decay

Sorry if there's somewhere I coulda looked this up, but do any of you know what lvl your corpse stops decaying fast? I asked a few places in game and no one knew for sure.

Five comes to mind.
That's the level you start losing exp on death, so it kinda makes sense.

Not 100% sure though.

You don't get the "you have lost experience" message until after 4, at least.

If you do in fact lose exp at lvl 1, it's such an insignificant amount that it doesn't even register. I've been running Savok's Vert UI for a long time and one feature of that UI is adding an exp bar to the window with your HP/Mana/END. It also adds a percentage value to that bar and I am 100% certain that at levels under 5, that value does not decrease on death. So if you are, as you believe, losing exp regardless of lvl, it's less than 1% per death. At lvl 5, that changes and IIRC, you lose ~6% exp per death.

I believe that fast corpse decay ceases around lvl 5 for 2 reasons:
1) I've left a lvl 5 corpse on the ground on purpose as a holding place before I had bags.
2) I generally move by holding down both mouse buttons, so I accidentally click on alot of junk on the ground. I've unintentionally tried to loot many many corpses in the newbie area and EC tunnel that returned the system message " This corpse will decay in x days, x hours, x minutes. If a lvl 8 corpse decayed in 24 hours or less, there would be alot less corpses, and alot more posts in the forum about it.

I have a /hidecorpse allbutgroup hotkey made, but I'm too lazy to click it every freaking time I zone from Nek/EC/NRo/FP.

I don't like to use /hidecorpse all because i like seeing all the millions of newbie corpses everywhere.

Particularly the floating ones near Kelethin.

It's a pain in the arse when you try to target something and you keep getting "Umbongo's corpse". It's either that or everything seems to be "a bat", stupid bloody target boxes.

Death penalty is ~10% of the exp it took to gain your previous level. So it's roughly 1/2 a yellow at most levels, and roughly 1 yellow at 31, 36, 41, and 46.
