Default Returning player & introduction

Hello everyone. I was introduced to EQ back in vanilla and played through PoP. I'll never forget the day in 11th grade when my marks were poor, and my father told me I couldn't play anymore. I ended up selling my account for three hundred bucks which was amazing for a 17 year old.

Anyway, I've been trying to re-create the experience with other games ever since with absolutely no luck at all. It's been over a decade and I will never forget my nekkid little dwarf being ported to Plane of Hate so that I could grab that maestro book - experiences like that are priceless. I'm really excited to get back into what I know and love.

I really like grouping and social interaction, so soloing is not one of my priorities. I am considering a bard or enchanter - are those roles still in high demand (or low population)?

I mained a rogue back in the day, and due to so many DPS classes I sometimes had a hard time finding a group. I'd like it to be a bit easier this time around if at all possible.

Thanks everyone. I'm downloading now and I look forward to seeing you all in game.

As far as low population classes go, the lowest three I think are pal, sk, war. But it doesn't really matter, Just play what you would have fun with. Chanters are a ton of fun and wanted in groups. I don't see many bards, but that is probably because they are off somewhere AE kiting and not grouping. I always love having a bard in my group though.

I feel like paladin is a great class. Groups, they always need a tank. And with a 40% experience penalty, you're never rushed, and can enjoy the immersive locales for longer than other classes can.

Welcome back Brevs! Chanter/Bard are actually probably two of the most common classes, the least common being paladins, rangers and then sk/war not too far behind them. There are not many good chanters/bards though ^^ owing to the fact that many prefer to solo and others are just looking to experience a class with some classic mystique ^^ you shouldn't really have trouble finding a party as either of those, or any other class for that matter. Good hunting and safe travels!

Whats up and welcome to the server! If you're just starting out, myself and a couple others are trying to put together a static group to relive that experience you're talking about. Plan is to only XP together at our scheduled times so we can all stay around the same level and always have a group ready to go right when we login.

Sounds like you're looking for a lot of the same stuff we are, so it'd be great to add you to the group. Heres the link to our thread, check it out
